Everywhere I go, I hear from people how dismal things are. The economy is in the toilet. Business is horrible. Layoffs are bountiful. It's all so negative, and I want to go home and start drinking.
BUT, in dire times, as in good times, opportunities are everywhere. If you look. They're there. Seize them.
While others are down and out, carpe diem. Market. Network. Connect.
Share your successes.

If she'll take you on, hire this woman, from my one experience of working with her, she can outwork anyone, she is non stop 24/7 working, an honor
ReplyDeleteReally everything is relative. Those that are complaining are those that have not lived through a serious downturn. Just a few short years ago I remember folks talking about how rich they were getting flipping homes and that the market would keep going up...these are mostly the same people who didnt do a good job reading history, and or are too young to remember the last huge correction during Jimmy Carter era. No gas and mortagages were at 24%.
ReplyDeleteYes it is tuff, yes we need to cut back but didnt we need to do that anyways were we not just living in the bubble of self indulgence? Lots of folks have been crushed and lost vast wealth. Good thing we live in america, it just means we have to do it again (make all that money back) if we want to if not no big deal.. It probably didnt really make you happy anyways. Really stop and ask yourself what is it you really want to do? What is it that you really love to do? Go do either one of them and I can guarantee you that you will find happiness. Just a thought from an old grouchy Italian who thinks life should always have more play in it and no one should be taken seriously unless they have a gun or a bomb in their hand....
Well said. I completely agree
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you Joanie, we have got to stop looking through the lense of fear. In 2010, I've turned off the TV (except for a few shows that inspire me, and cartoons for the kids), I've turned off the radio, and am just working on making myself better (reading, listening to books on CD, and living life), and the better I get the more opportunity that seems to come my way! Positive thinking & positive attitudes attract positive outcomes!
